IGSSE Forum Raitenhaslach

The Idea

A central aspect of the interaction between the project teams and creation of the IGSSE´s own identity has been our graduate school´s annual meeting, also known as the IGSSE Forum. During this three-day symposium, approximately 200 members of IGSSE and international guests meet for scientific workshops, lectures and ambitious training programs.

The Opportunities

The Forum encourages our doctoral candidates to look beyond the borders of their own research interests, learning about the various aspects, solution concepts and visions of divergent research fields. They also have to present their own projects to the meeting´s interdisciplinary audience - and get the opportunity to exchange and develop ideas off the beaten tracks.

IGSSE Forum 2017: Manage your career!

Join us for the 11th IGSSE Forum in Raitenhaslach from 29-31 May 2017! ‘Manage your career’, this year´s leitmotif, aims at giving the opportunity to get first-hand insights into diverse career opportunities, ranging from academic in university and non-university contexts, startups, patent examination and many others. Among key note speakers and workshop instructors are Dr. Fridolin Stary (Head R&D, Wacker Chemie), Dr. Carlos Härtel (CTO & Chief Innovation Officer, GE Europe) and Dr. Markus Zanner (Chancellor University of Bayreuth), so we are looking forward to many inspiring inputs. To complement the workshops, several companies (e.g. Infineon, Evonik, Wacker, Dynamic Bionsensors, Kinexon) and research institutions (DFG, UAS7, Fraunhofer) will present their career opportunities at the first-ever IGSSE career fair on Wednesday morning. On the same occasion, small panels, consisting of alumni and diverse representatives from academia and industry will offer the opportunity to discuss questions regarding a fulfilling and successful career.

Find the complete list of workshops on the 2017 workshops website.
