Training
The specific objective of IGSSE's structured Research Training Program (RTP) is to promote doctoral candidates' personality and broaden their scientific qualifications beyond the scope of their individual research projects.
The most important factor in terms of IGSSE's general aim is cross-curricular, active cooperation between science and engineering - rooted in disciplinary excellence and international cooperation. The RTP intends to expand the junior scientists' interdisciplinary horizons and encourage critical reflection on the academic, cultural and socio-scientific rapport of modern technologies.

The IGSSE Mentoring Program supports the goal to enrich the scientific and personal training of our graduate students and thus to accelerate their doctoral education and career development. Special mentoring tailored to the needs of young female scientists is available.
The Curriculum is based on a modular concept of topically aligned courses, exercises and trainings. It lasts 6 semesters for grant-supported IGSSE members. A prolongation can be granted for associate IGSSE members or in case of pregnancy, childbirth or adoption.
50 credits are required to successfully graduate from IGSSE and to receive the IGSSE Certificate. For details see the Study Regulations.
