The kick-off meeting of our project "4D City" was successfully hosted in 8th April, at German Aerospace Center (DLR), Oberpfaffenhofen. This marks the official commencement of our cooperation with the scientists and young researches from Wuhan University, China. We warmly welcome PI Prof. Mingsheng Liao, PI Prof. Timo Balz, and Ph.D. candidate Ms. Lianhuan Wei from the State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing (LIESMARS), Wuhan University. They took the opportunity to present their latest research in urban remote sensing.
Project team members from TUM and DLR are PI Prof. Richard Bamler, team leader MSc. Xiao Xiang Zhu and Ph.D candidates Yuanyuan Wang. Discussion was carried out in cooperation issues, key problems to solve, and work packages breakdown. SAR experts Dr. Michael Eineder and Mr. Nico Adam from DLR offered valuable suggestions in the technical aspect. We also invited Dr. Matthias Butenuth, and Dr. Jukka Krisp to share their experience in graphical models and geo-visualization.
The “technical discussion” went on in the late afternoon in “Kloster Andechs”. The traditional Bavarian food and drink opened a wide range of topics and created tight bonds between the team members.
