Course "Applied MRI-based analysis of human brain connectivity"
taught by Christian Sorg and Valentin Riedl
9-13 July 2012
The basic idea of the course is to give an idea and related skills for the way from MR-signal to human brain connectivity scores: Signals: MR-signal, MR-Imaging, BOLD-signal, diffusion weighted imaging (DWI); MRI data preprocessing: smoothing, filtering, de-noising, normalization; Functional connectivity FC: region-of-interest (ROI) based FC analysis, independent component anaylsis (ICA) and related FC measures; Structural connectivity: DWI-based fiber, tractography, connectome; Analysis of brain connectivity matrices: pattern classification, graph-based analysis
Hands-On Course "Preclinical Imaging"
taught by Prof. Sybille Ziegler and Iina Laitinen, PhD
23-27 July 2012
This course gives an introduction to small animal imaging in the field of PET, CT, MRI, optical and multimodal imaging techniques and their use in preclinical research. This one week intensive course combines lectures (morning) and practical hands-on sessions (afternoon) in smaller groups.
