Project Team "4D City" meeting in China

From 4- 11 May this, the 2nd IGSSE "4D City" project meeting was successfully held in the State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing (LIESMARS), Wuhan, China, including excursions to several research institutes in China and a progress report meeting on 8 May.
In the morning session of the progress report meeting, director assistant of LIESMARS Prof. Huayi Wu welcomed PI Prof. Richard Bamler and the invited guest Mr. Ralf Düring from Infoterra China. They gave open presentations on the topics "TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X – The Potential of Very High Resolution Radar Remote Sensing From Space" and "Commercial applications for SAR in China" respectively. The audiences showed great interest in the potential of our current research. A hot debate was conducted in the Q & A session. In the afternoon session, project team leader Dr. Xiaoxiang Zhu from TUM/DLR reported the current project progress, and listed the outstanding issues, especially on the data exchanging format and the oversea stay in TUM of team member Ms. Lianhuan Wei from LIESMARS. Following Dr. Zhu, PI Prof. Timo Balz from LIESMARS reported their current research on web-based point cloud visualization technique tailored to TomoSAR results. Ms. Lianhuan Wei and Mr. Yuanyuan Wang then gave detailed presentations on their TomoSAR research.
In the following week, Mr. Yuanyuan Wang stayed in Wuhan continuing more detailed discussion of technical details with Ms. Lianhuan Wei.
