How do I apply for a position as a doctoral candidate?
At IGSSE, all doctoral candidates are part of interdisciplinary project teams. Open positions within these teams are announced on our website, including a detailed job description and information about required qualifications. You can also get in touch with one of IGSSE´s Principal Investigators (PI) who does research in a field of your interest and expertise and inquire about the possibility of being associated to an existing project team.
Are there application deadlines?
There are no fixed, regular application deadlines. Details for specific positions are usually mentioned clearly in the job advertisement. If details are not given, it is best to get in touch with the respective Principal Investigator (PI) directly –it may be a position that is open until filled.
Do I have to join a team or can I have my own research project?
You have to join a team: all doctoral candidates are part of one of our interdisciplinary project teams and are pursuing their specific doctoral research projects within the framework of these teams.
Do I need the TOEFL or a corresponding English language certificate?
No. However, a proficient command of the English language is essential for your work in an international and interdisciplinary project team.
How can I apply for a Masters position or an intern position?
Search for a project team that matches your research interests and get in touch with the respective Principal Investigator.
