Save the date: 6th IGSSE Forum at Raitenhaslach monastery 4-6 July 2012
Accomplishing a doctorate marks the beginning of a professional career – but the decision whether this career will be an academic or industrial one has to be taken a lot earlier. This year´s IGSSE Forum Careers in the 21st century provides all IGSSE members with expert information on the divergent career paths in academia and industry, as well as entrepreneurship opportunities.
Several successful IGSSE Alumni will present their career paths, and with representatives from industry, TUM Talent Factory, the UnternehmerTUM, and the TUM Graduate School profound professional expertise is easily accessible during this year´s workshops.
For the first time, IGSSE PTLs will have the opportunity to network and participate in a specially arranged workshop dedicated to developing postdoc careers within the IGSSE.
This year´s speakers include Cleveland State University´s Vice President Prof. George E. Walker, Senior Vice President and Dean of Graduate Studies and International Affairs of the Technical University of Denmark, Prof. Martin Bendsoe as well as the mayor of Burghausen, Hans Steindl.
As in the past years, TUM President Prof. Wolfgang A. Herrmann and IGSSE Director Prof. Ernst Rank will present the IGSSE certificates to IGSSE graduates during a festive ceremony and last but not least, “Schotter´s Jazzhaufen” will provide the musical setting for another great IGSSE party.
