Admission
For prospective doctoral candidates there are two options of applying for IGSSE membership.
- Open positions: Up to twice a year, open doctoral candidates´ positions in new Project Teams will be announced on our website. Proposals for such projects can be submitted by TUM senior scientists to the IGSSE Board. In a highly competitive reviewing process, the best interdisciplinary ideas win IGSSE funding (i.e. employments, material and travel expenses) to start a new research group within the graduate school. With the funding granted, prospective doctoral candidates may apply for IGSSE membership and an employment. Alternatively, paid by their Chair or external funds can apply for an associated membership. The next call for proposals will be initiated in autumn 2012.
- Speculative applications: Applicants who already hold a scholarship or an employment may apply for associate membership in existing Project Teams of call 5, 6 or 7, comprising a wide variety of research topics in science and engineering. Please view these projects on this website (Research - Research Projects) and contact us via info(at)igsse.tum.de should you be interested to become an associated member in one of them. We will then guide you through the application process on an individual basis.
